Miles & Stockbridge is pleased to announce that Veronica D. Jackson, an employment and data privacy lawyer at the firm, has been named to The Daily Record’s “VIP” List, which recognizes Maryland leaders 40 years of age and younger for their professional accomplishments, community service and commitment to inspiring change.

Ascounsel in the Labor and Employment Group of Miles & Stockbridge, Jackson represents employers in a broad range of employment litigation matters, employment discrimination, sexual harassment, ADA and FMLA litigation, and wrongful discharge. Her assistance to clients also includes conducting internal investigations, drafting policies, and performing employee and senior management training.

In addition to her employment law practice, Jackson also counsels clients through data breach and cyber incident response efforts, including providing guidance on data breach notifications and representing clients in any subsequent regulatory and legal matters. She is frequently asked to speak on data security topics and earlier this year served as a panelist at the Microsoft Tech Law Summit at the Howard University School of Law.

“Veronica has built a unique legal practice that blends employment law with a niche in data security and privacy,” said Nancy W. Greene, chairman of Miles & Stockbridge. “She also helps others prepare for their own success, as a mentor to associates at our firm and as a role model to the young girls she works with as a Girl Scout volunteer.”

Jackson serves as co-chair for the BaltimoreKnowledgeNet chapter of the International Association of Privacy Professionals and is a member of the Alliance of Black Women Attorneys. As a volunteer with her daughter’s Girl Scout troop, Jackson has given presentations about her cybersecurity work to engage young girls with STEM and encourage them to protect their own digital privacy. This year, she joined theboard of directors for Community Law in Action, a Baltimore-based non-profit organization that helps youth develop advocacy and leadership skills.

VIP List winners received their awards at a reception in the sculpture garden at Gertrude’s at the Baltimore Museum of Art. Honorees also were profiled in a special section of The Daily Record.
