Emily McDermott
Van Eperen, a PR and strategic communications agency based in Maryland, announced that The Daily Record has named account supervisor and project manager Emily McDermott to the “2019 VIP List” recognizing area professionals for their achievements.
The Daily Record created the VIP List in 2010 to recognize professionals 40 years of age and younger who have been successful in Maryland. Winners, chosen by a panel of the previous year's VIP List honorees, were selected on the basis of professional accomplishments, community service and the impact of their achievements.
“This recognition by The Daily Record is well deserved and a testament to who she is as a professional and as a leader in our Baltimore office,” said Laura Van Eperen, CEO. “We look forward to celebrating this outstanding achievement with our staff, Emily’s family and the other winners in the Baltimore business community.”
McDermott joined Van Eperen in 2017 and has nearly 15 years of experience working with nonprofit, corporate, and consumer clients strategically executing public and media relations, brand messaging, consumer marketing, business development, and social media strategy. McDermott actively participates in Thread and is a board member for the Maryland chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.
"This year's VIP List winners are impressive individuals who are making a significant impact on the communities in which they work and live," said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, publisher of The Daily Record. "They are the next generation of leaders across our state, and they know the value of working hard and giving back. The Daily Record is pleased to honor their achievements."
McDermott and the other winners will be honored Sept. 19 at a reception at Gertrude's at the Baltimore Museum of Art The winners will be profiled in a special section that will be inserted into the Sept. 20 issue of The Daily Record and available online at www.TheDailyRecord.com.
