Miles & Stockbridge is pleased to announce that Anthony F. Cavanaugh, an experienced real estate litigator, has joined the law firm as a principal in the Commercial and Business Litigation Practice Group in its Washington, D.C. office.

Cavanaugh focuses on complex commercial litigation in the real estate and hospitality industries, representing developers, property owners, property managers, asset managers, franchisees, lenders, commercial landlords and tenants, and other commercial parties.

His practice also includes class action defense, including class actions brought against property owners and developers as well as a series of medical monitoring class actions for a leading chemical manufacturer. Cavanaugh also has represented government contractors in commercial disputes.

“Anthony’s deep rootsin the Washington, D.C. metro area, and his well-established practice throughout the Mid-Atlantic, are complements to the firm’s growth in D.C. and to our own regional footprint,” said Nancy W. In addition to litigation, Cavanaugh represents clients in the negotiation of hotel management contracts. He also helps clients assess and mitigate risk in the dealmaking process and evaluate operations of hotels and other commercial properties.

Cavanaugh earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. He is an honors graduate of Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut.
