The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region (The Arc NCR) was presented a $3,000 check this week by the Enterprise Holdings Foundation in support of the 7th Annual “Kicks for Chase” charity soccer game between the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) Retrievers and La Salle University Explorers. UMBC was victorious with a final score of 4-0 at the game in April 2019; funds raised support The Arc NCR’s services for people with differing abilities (intellectual and developmental disabilities).
Kicks for Chase began in 2013 in memory of Chase Bugarin. Chase, son of UMBC soccer standout Bryan Bugarin and his wife, Amy, was born with Down Syndrome and severe complications. In his memory, and to benefit kids like Chase with Downs Syndrome, UMBC Men’s Soccer began “Kicks for Chase” to raise money for children with differing abilities.
“We are grateful for the continued support of the Enterprise Holdings Foundation, UMBC and the Bugarin family,” says CEO of The Arc NCR, Shawn Kros. “These funds will make a difference in the lives of the families we help each and every day.”
You can make a difference for people with differing abilities and their families by giving a gift or volunteering your time with The Arc NCR. To learn more, visit www.arcncr.org or call 410-836-7177.
