LINTHICUM, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As patient acuity in the emergency department continues its upward trend, emergency providers must understand the importance of accurate critical care code capture.

Dr. Adler’s lecture at the Maryland ACEP Educational Conference will take a deep dive into critical care services rendered in the Emergency Department, including common clinical scenarios, and the pearls/pitfalls of accurate code capture.

The 2019 Maryland ACEP Educational Conference will be held on Thursday, March 14 at the BWI Airport Marriott in Linthicum Heights, MD. The annual meeting is designed to update emergency medicine personnel on current issues related to critical care coding and other pertinent topics. “As emergency clinicians, we have seen our patient population grow older and sicker, and we’re providing more critical care than in the past,” explains Dr. Adler, a board-certified emergency physician and Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland, School of Medicine. “Accurately capturing the critical care code can demonstrate the work you are already doing.”

Dr. Adler joined Brault in 2018 as Vice President of Practice Improvement, where he serves as subject matter expert on ED documentation and coding, physician education, provider productivity and malpractice risk management. As part of his role with Brault, Dr. Adler serves as a frequent author and guest lecturer at emergency medicine conferences and educational events. Learn more at https://www.brault.us/about/
