
Maryland’s wine enthusiasts are encouraged to swirl, sniff, and sip their way through the month of March as we celebrate our local vineyards during the third annual Maryland Wine Month. From self-guided tours to neighborhood festivals celebrating the latest red and white blends, there is sure to be something on the calendar for every discerning palette.
Maryland is home to 10 wine trails and 75 wineries, with every county featuring at least one vineyard. According to the Maryland Wineries Association, this industry generated close to $2.6 billion in total economic activity for the state in 2017 alone. With so many wineries from the Eastern Shore to Western Maryland, and everything in between, wine lovers are sure to have options this Maryland Wine Month.
Chateau Bu-De Vineyards will host the month’s first event in Chesapeake City on March 2. This tasting festival – titled Blending Trials for March is Maryland Wine Month – will give attendees the opportunity to blend their own wine under the expert guidance of winemaker Jacques van der Vyver.
