Baltimore Child Abuse Center Honors Six Time Medalist Aly Raisman At 6thAnnual Be A Hero Gala and Party

WHAT: Baltimore Child Abuse Center will honor six-time medalist, and second most decorated American gymnast of all-time Aly Raisman at the 6th annual Be A Hero Gala on Friday, May 10 beginning at 8:00 pm at Hippodrome at France-Merrick Performing Arts Center.

Raisman captured the hearts of millions as she became the first American gymnast to win gold in the floor exercise and she helped guide the team to gold landing a silver medal performance in the All-Around competition at the 2016 Games. Raisman has been vocal about sharing her journey, including her survival of sexual abuse. She advocates for systematic changes within the sport of gymnastics and works to help eradicate sexual abuse in youth sports overall.

Each year the Be A Hero Gala celebrates the work of superheroes who are doing their part to fight child abuse in Baltimore and beyond. Baltimore Child Abuse Center is one of the leading child advocacy centers in the country initiating ground-breaking programming and advocating on behalf of all children to ensure they are protected.
