Smith, Gildea & Schmidt, LLC (SGS), a regional law firm with offices in Towson and Baltimore, is pleased to announce that Mariela D'Alessio has been named a partner of the firm. D'Alessio, who has been with SGS since 2014, is the Chair of the Estates and Trust Department and focuses her practice on estate planning and estate and trust administration.

Additionally, D’Alessio assists clients with various transactional needs such as business formation, review and drafting of business contracts and agreements, real estate transactions such as deeds, contracts of sale, and leases, both commercial and residential.

D’Alessio regularly meets with clients to implement an individualized and complete estate plan, which often includes a Last Will and Testament, Living Will, Medical and Financial Powers of Attorney, and Trusts. In addition to the drafting of a client’s unique estate plan, D’Alessio is frequently retained to handle the administration of both estates and trusts.

Prior to joining SGS, D’Alessio worked initially as a paralegal and then as an associate attorney at the AV-rated firm of Bodie, Dolina, Hobbs, Friddell and Grenzer, P.C. D’Alessio is a graduate of Florida Coastal School of Law and Villa Julie College, now known as Stevenson University. While in law school, D’Alessio served as a judicial intern to Judge Peter O. Dearing, Probate Division of the Fourth Circuit of Duval County, Florida.

As a result of her dedication and professionalism, D’Alessio was named a SuperLawyers Magazine Rising Star in the annual list of top attorneys in Maryland for 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018.

D'Alessio is licensed to practice law in Florida, Maryland and Pennsylvania.
