Axsome Therapeutics (AXSM) is a biopharmaceutical company with a rich pipeline of drugs being run in trials of talked about indications such as treatment-resistant depression (TRD) and Alzheimer's disease-related agitation (AD agitation). Despite that, AXSM itself isn't the most talked about company, which might not be surprising if AXSM were running trials in just these two indications and results were a long way away. AXSM is, however, running trials in many more indications and the 12 months ahead are full of readouts from these clinical trials. The recent press release concerning an interim analysis in a trial of the company's drug AXS-05 (dextromethorphan + bupropion) in AD agitation also has very positive ramifications which are discussed in this article.
