Nemphos Braue LLC, the premier corporate boutique law firm in the Mid-Atlantic region, is pleased to announce that Carlos “CJ” Santos has been selected to join the Greater Baltimore Committee (GBC)’s Economic Development Committee.

The Economic Development Committee’s purpose is to create a vibrant and diverse regional economy that increases the quality of life for workers and provides the necessary support for sustainable regional growth. The committee seeks to ensure that programs and policies are in place that attract and retain businesses and improve business competitiveness in the Greater Baltimore region.

Santos, an associate on Nemphos Braue’s corporate team, focuses on representing emerging and mature private companies. He represents clients in private company mergers and acquisitions (both buy and sale side), private equity transactions, and debt-financing. Mr. Santos also handles a variety of matters relating to corporate governance, general corporate issues, and business law.

“I’m honored to be a part of the Economic Development Committee,” said Santos. “As a resident of Baltimore, I’m very excited to be involved and to help advocate for policies that enact positive change in the region. It’s important to me that Baltimore continues to be a city where businesses can be created and thrive.”

Before joining Nemphos Braue, Santos was an associate attorney at McGuireWoods LLP, where he acted as underwriter’s counsel for public finance transactions involving healthcare institutions and charter schools and bank’s counsel for secured loan financings. He was also an associate attorney at McKennon Shelton & Henn LLP, where as bond counsel he handled transactions involving general obligation bonds, revenue bonds, and debt and lease financing.
