Smith, Gildea & Schmidt, LLC (SGS), a regional law firm based in Towson, is pleased to announce that Lauren Dodrill Benjamin has returned to the firm as associate attorney.

Benjamin previously practiced at SGS from 2011 - 2016. She then spent almost two years as a front-line fundraiser at Goucher College, where she was a Major Gift Officer working with alumni on the east coast.

Since returning to the firm in August, Benjamin’s focus is Motions Practice oriented in the area of complex plaintiffs' litigation, including class actions, business and contract litigation, and personal injury.

Benjamin is a cum laude graduate of Franklin & Marshall College, where she was a member of the Women’s Basketball Team. She attended the University of Baltimore School of Law, graduating cum laude with a concentration in Litigation & Advocacy.

After law school, Benjamin served as the Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Judith C. Ensor in the Circuit Court for Baltimore County.

An active member of the community, Benjamin served on the Alumnae Board of her high school alma mater, Roland Park Country School, and she was the 2014-2015 Alumnae Development Chair for The Fund for Roland Park Country School. She also previously served as a co-organizer of the Maryland Moot Court Invitational Tournament for high school students throughout Maryland and she volunteers on the Baltimore County Sitting Judges Campaign.

Benjamin was named to The Daily Record’s 20 in Their Twenties in 2012. In 2012, Lauren was also named one of Baltimore’s Finest under 35 by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Lauren has also been recognized as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers Magazine in the publication's annual list of top attorneys in Maryland for 2013-2016.
