Drive received pledges totaling $357,951 from 2,528 listeners
WYPR today announced the station’s fall drive, which ran from September 22-27, and was cut short by one day so the station could air the Kavanaugh Senate Judiciary hearings uninterrupted, resulted in $357,951 in pledges, the second largest of any pledge drive in station history.
During the six-day drive, more than 2,528listeners pledged funds to Baltimore’s NPR station. The single largest group of donors was new members at 841. WYPR received approximately 700 pledges over the course of four hours on Thursday, the last day of the drive, cut short due to Senate Judiciary hearings. WYPR received approximately 300 pledges this past weekend after the drive ended, which raised over $50,000.
"There continues to be widespread support for the unbiased and up-to-the-minute coverage we provide as Baltimore’s public radio station,” said Tony Brandon, general manager for WYPR.
WYPR’s spring drive, which took place in March 2017, resulted in the largest pledges in station history at $373,000.
