Barb Clapp

Barb Clapp, president and CEO of Clapp Communications, a Baltimore-based, award-winning advertising, marketing, digital and public relations firm, has been selected as a winner of CEO Report’s Mid-Atlantic Women’s Leadership Awards.

The Women’s Leadership Awards program honors CEOs and executives who have moved their companies and communities forward. They are recognized not only for their accomplishments in business, but also for their contributions within their community. The women selected are trailblazers in business and truly stand out for being passionate about philanthropy and inspiring up and coming leaders.

“I am deeply honored to win this award and to stand by my fellow nominees,” said Barb Clapp, president and CEO of Clapp Communications. “I have been incredibly blessed in life and have made it my mission to give as much as I can give to return that blessing, both personally and professionally. I am committed to the welfare of my community and will always fight for those without a voice.”

Barb has been president and CEO of her small business for 17 years, founding it as Barb Clapp Advertising & Marketing, LLC in 2001 on a shoestring budget, sustaining it during the economic crash of 2008, and rebranding as Clapp Communications in 2011. She and her team have been recognized by PRSA and other organizations for their work in multiple communications categories. She has been instrumental in PR activities for the city, including for the Fraternal Order of Police and University of Baltimore, and was appointed by Mayor Pugh to the board of the Baltimore Public Markets Corporation and Lexington Market, Inc.

She also serves as a member of the Humane Society of the United States State Council, Signal 13 Foundation Board, and Mercy High School Advisory Board.

Award recipients will be honored at a gala at the Down Town Club in Philadelphia on October 10 from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
