September 22 event at Union Collective to benefit Believe in Music

Baltimore magazine has announced plans for their first music festival, which will take place on September 22 at Union Collective and will feature Baltimore-based musicians. The festival will benefit Believe in Music, a nonprofit organization that focuses on empowering Baltimore City students through music education.

The artist lineup will include TT The Artist, Cris Jacobs, DDM, Natural Velvet, Outcalls and DJ James Nasty. These Baltimore-based musicians, all of whom are challenging the local and national music scene with their work, will bring a mix of genres including hip hop, rap, post-punk, electronic pop and rock.

"We are beyond excited to be able to celebrate Baltimore’s diverse and dynamic music scene,” said Lydia Woolever, senior editor and music writer at Baltimore magazine. "Through both our print Music Issue and now this live Music Festival, we’re hoping to shine a light on some of our city’s most talented musicians.”

Proceeds from the festival will benefit Believe in Music, a local nonprofit established with the goal of providing an innovative music education experience for Baltimore's youth. By utilizing state-of-the-art production technology and encouraging self-expression through artistic creation, the organization helps students develop the tools crucial for academic achievement and career advancement. Believe in Music brings its programming into schools and community centers across many of Baltimore’s neighborhoods.

Tickets are $25 in advance ($35 at the door) and can be purchased online at bmag.co/music. Baltimore ma gazine’s Music Issue is currently on newsstands.
