As a highly-trained gastroenterologist and one of the area’s top liver specialists, Dr. Darryn Potosky is now receiving patients at Capital Digestive Care’s Maryland offices in Columbia, Laurel and Takoma Park.  He began his new position with the practice in March.  Before joining Capital Digestive Care, Dr. Potosky served as Director of Hepatology in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Maryland Medical Center where he was responsible for running the clinical and administrative aspects of the Liver Program.

As a student, Dr. Potosky completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland at College Park and graduated Summa Cum Laude. He then continued his medical education at the University of Maryland School of Medicine – Baltimore where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He later completed fellowships in gastroenterology, hepatology and transplant hepatology.  Dr. Potosky currently maintains a faculty appointment at the University of Maryland as a Clinical Assistant Professor. 

Dr. Potosky’s personal philosophy is that it is important to not only take excellent care of his patients but to also educate them about their health. In addition to having a record of dedication to patient care, Dr. Potosky’s work has been published in peer-reviewed publications, as well as national and international meetings including the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) and Digestive Diseases Week (DDW).?
