WYPR Concludes Most Successful Pledge Drive In Station History

3/14/17

Spring drive received pledges totaling $373,000 from 2,696 listeners

WYPR today announced the station’s long-standing spring drive, which ran from March 4-9, resulted in $373,000 in pledges, the most of any pledge drive in station history.

During the six-day drive, more than 2,696 listeners pledged funds to Baltimore’s NPR station. Of those pledges, 69% were a sustaining gift and 40% were from new members. Ten percent of current sustaining members increased their monthly gift.

"These fund drive numbers indicate widespread support for WYPR's truthful, unbiased journalism delivered in a civil manner as only public radio can do,” said Tony Brandon, general manager for WYPR. “And, they are a repudiation of fake news, unsubstantiated claims and alternate facts."
