Tracy Immel
The Health Facilities Association of Maryland (HFAM) has promoted Tracy Immel to the director of policy and government relations. In this position, Immel will lead long-term care regulatory and reimbursement analysis at both state and federal levels, track legislation, and lobby on behalf of long-term care facilities in Maryland.
Immel has ten years of experience in the healthcare industry, including healthcare administration, research and policy analysis. She began working with HFAM as the director of reimbursement and policy in 2012. Prior to her roles at HFAM, Immel earned her master’s in health and medical policy at George Mason University.
“Tracy has been an integral part of our staff for several years and has proven to be an incredible leader,” said Joseph DeMattos, Jr., president and CEO of HFAM. “Her work on state and federal levels is crucial to the success of long-term term care providers and their ability to deliver top notch care for patients in need.”
Founded in 1948, HFAM, is a leader and advocate for Maryland’s long-term care provider community, representing 150 of the 233 skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers in Maryland. Member facilities offer assisted living, sub-acute, rehabilitation and long-term care nursing services and are found in nearly every community in every county and city across Maryland. Maryland’s long-term care provider community directly supports an estimated $3.7 billion in state economic activity – a major job-creator and economic engine for the state.
