Katzen Eye Group, Maryland’s largest private eye care practice, is pleased to announce that Kameen Eye Associates, leaders in LASIK and other vision correction procedures, has joined Katzen to provide patients in the Baltimore area more options for comprehensive eye treatment. The acquisition was finalized in late summer and Dr. Kameen and his staff now offer full services across Katzen’s seven locations.

Dr. Kameen is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist who has been practicing in the Baltimore area since the beginning of his career. After graduating from Georgetown University Medical School in 1982, Dr. Kameen completed his residency at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC). Among his accomplishments, Dr. Kameen performed the first government-approved Excimer laser vision correction procedure, the first LASIK Intralase procedure, and the first NearVision CK procedure in the Baltimore area. Recently, he became the first surgeon in the Mid-Atlantic region to provide the newly approved KAMRA inlay procedure to correct near vision loss.

John C. Minardi, O.D., Dr. Kameen’s partner, has also joined Katzen Eye Group. A Board Certified Optometrist, Dr. Minardi earned his degrees from the University of Michigan and New England College of Optometry. He has been caring for patients in Maryland since 1987, holding leading positions at at Kaiser Permanente’s Silver Spring and Kensington/Largo Medical Centers and its Baltimore Service Area, as well as at the Summit/LCA Vision Centers and the formerly titled TLC The Laser Center/Kameen Laser Eye Associates.
