Adam Ruther Elected to the Board of Directors of the South Baltimore Learning Center

Rosenberg Martin Greenberg, LLP, a law firm headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland with offices in Annapolis, Maryland and Wilmington, Delaware, is pleased to announce that associate attorney Adam Ruther has been elected to the Board of Directors of the South Baltimore Learning Center.

Since 1990, SBLC has been serving disadvantaged adults and young adults in Baltimore City. The organization started out as local neighborhood tutoring program with a $60,000 budget and now offers an array of services with a budget of close to $1.4 million. SBLC is a leader in providing adult literacy and career preparation services in Baltimore and in Maryland

The mission of South Baltimore Learning Center (SBLC) is to improve the self-sufficiency of educationally disadvantaged adults. SBLC is a community-based nonprofit organization providing functional literacy and life skills training, in addition to career preparation services, to residents in the Baltimore Area. SBLC is in its 25th year of operation – an incredible milestone for a nonprofit – and is now one of only a few remaining community based adult literacy organizations still in operation.

Adam Ruther joined the firm as an associate in the litigation group in April 2015. His practice focuses on commercial litigation and white collar criminal defense. Prior to joining RMG, Adam most recently served as Assistant State’s Attorney for the Baltimore City since 2011, where he investigated and litigated gang, organized crime, and violent repeat offender cases in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City, while assigned to the Major Investigations Unit. Prior to that, Adam was Assistant State’s Attorney for the Montgomery County from 2008 to 2011, where he litigated cases in the District and Circuit Courts for Montgomery County.

Adam taught as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Baltimore School of Law in the Intro to Legal Skills and Moot Court Programs courses from 2008 until 2015. He is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association’s Maryland Criminal Pattern Jury Instructions Committee, as well as an active member of the MSBA’s Young Lawyers and Criminal Law sections. Adam is a 2008 graduate of the University of Baltimore School of Law, and obtained his undergraduate degree from Montana State University in 2004. He is admitted to the Maryland State Bar and the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland.

Adam has been a frequently featured legal analyst in both television and radio broadcasts for WJZ Baltimore, WBAL-TV, as well as being interviewed by The Daily Record, The Washington Post, The Baltimore Sun, and other reputable news sources. Read more about Adam here.
