Julie Hopkins
Trademark attorney. Community volunteer. Trusted advisor. Now, Womble Carlyle attorney Julie Hopkins has added “Educator” to her growing list of titles.
Hopkins is serving as an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland’s Carey School of Law, focusing on trademark law issues. In the Fall 2016 semester, she is teaching a course titled “Trademarks and Unfair Competition.”
“When I was in law school, I was fortunate enough to study with professors whose advice I remember and follow to this day,” Hopkins said. “I thought it would be nice if I could pass along what I’ve learned to a new generation of lawyers.”
Hopkins practices trademark prosecution, registration and enforcement in the United States and worldwide, including searching and clearance of brand names, logos, slogans, and trade dress. She also represents clients in trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
In the community, Hopkins serves on numerous Boards of Directors, including House of Ruth Maryland, Maryland Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, and the Smith College Club of Baltimore. She is currently serving as the Immediate Past Chair of the Intellectual Property Section of the Maryland State Bar Association.
Hopkins practices in Womble Carlyle’s Baltimore office.
