As part of its continued commitment to deliver unparalleled local programming that educates, entertains and engages listeners across Maryland, WYPR 88.1 FM has announced several changes to its daytime programming. Sheilah Kast, current Midday host, will be creating a new long-format program consisting of interviews on current events and topics to air following Morning Edition from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. Tom Hall, the current host of Maryland Morning, will be moving to Midday, which airs weekdays from noon to 1:00 p.m. These changes become effective September 19th.
“From time to time, our content is reviewed, and we explore opportunities that best serve our audiences and apply the talents of our staff most effectively,” said Tony Brandon, president and general manager of WYPR.
“Sheilah has decades of experience as a journalist, and those reporting skills, along with her keen instincts, will be a great asset to our listeners as she produces in-depth interviews on pressing issues that face our community. At the same time, Tom has honed his skills as a top-notch conversationalist during his tenure with Maryland Morning, and his move to Midday is a natural one,” added Brandon.
