The Maryland Daily Record has named Offit Kurman as an Innovator of the Year for 2016 for its Cannabis Practice.

Comprised of 31 finalists “who have created new products, services or programs that have had a positive effect on business, industry or the community,” this year’s list spans innovations in a broad array of fields such as education, technology, logistics, communication, and human rights. The Daily Record selects winners based on originality, power, challenge, and value of their breakthrough, as well as the quality of the nominees’ letters of reference.

Offit Kurman received this award for the launch and operation of its Cannabis Practice Group. The firm’s Cannabis Practice Group was founded in early 2016 by Offit Kurman attorneys Jonathan Wachs and Darren Weiss. The Group is dedicated to providing comprehensive legal assistance to new and proposed operators of cannabis related businesses in compliance with applicable laws and enforcement policies.
