zTrip Downloads Benefit Kennedy Krieger Institute

8/3/16

Baltimore’s famed Kennedy Krieger Institute will benefit from the efforts of nearly a thousand individuals who downloaded zTrip – the popular smartphone app that enables riders to book a black car or taxi for now or later – when it was launched earlier this year.

Yellow/Checker Cab of Baltimore and its parent company, Transdev, which owns and operates zTrip, pledged to donate $10 for every user who downloaded the zTrip app with the code HELPKIDS for a $10 free ride, from zTrip’s January launch through April 30. With more than 800 individual downloads, that translates into a donation of $8,070 to help children with brain injuries and other disorders who are being treated at Kennedy Krieger Institute.

“It seems appropriate that the launch zTrip – an innovative technology that is changing the taxi industry – is supporting Kennedy Krieger, whose innovative work is changing the lives of its patients on a daily basis,” says Regional Vice President Dwight Kines.

“We are grateful to everyone who downloaded the zTrip app, making zTrip’s donation to support the children and families of Kennedy Krieger a reality,” says Lainy LeBow-Sachs, Executive Vice President of Kennedy Krieger Institute. “zTrip’s commitment to both its customers and its community provides a great example which should be commended and imitated.”

zTrip users are able not only to hail a cab or black car on the street, but also to book a ride for now or later by phone or with the zTrip app. This means no waiting on the curb for a car to arrive. Customers also won’t have to wait to make transportation arrangements until the last minute. They can book a black car on a Tuesday for a trip they need to make on Friday morning.

Available for both iOS and Android, zTrip also features:

No surge pricing – zTrip offers the same low price every time, regardless of the day of the week or whether it’s 2 p.m. or 2 a.m.;

Professional, licensed, full-time drivers – zTrip drivers are fully insured and have undergone background checks so riders don’t have to worry about who is driving them home;

24/7 live customer service – zTrip offers users a live support team via traditional and in-app email or by phone anytime.
