Fred Wolf III, a partner in the Baltimore office of law firm Ballard Spahr, has been named Chair of the Board of Trustees of Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital (MWPH).

The nonprofit hospital, with locations in Baltimore City and Prince George’s County, is nationally recognized as a leader in pediatric medical care. Jointly owned by Johns Hopkins Medicine and the University of Maryland Medical System, MWPH provides family-centered, integrated care to children with serious, chronic, and/or complex medical needs.

Mr. Wolf has been involved with the hospital and its predecessor institution since 1978, when he first joined the Board. As Chair, he works with the Board and the hospital’s professional staff to provide leadership on policy, operations, and fundraising.

Mr. Wolf served as hospital Board Vice Chair before becoming Chair earlier this month. He has also served for more than 10 years on the Board of Directors of Mt. Washington Pediatric Foundation, Inc., which raises, receives, invests, and administers funds to support the hospital’s mission. He served as foundation board Chair.

Mr. Wolf is a partner in the Real Estate Department. The father of two and grandfather of four resides in the city with his wife.

“The hospital and the great work it does for young people in need have inspired my involvement during nearly 40 years,” he said. “I initially got involved because of the children, and I have stayed involved because of the children.”
