On May 5, 2016, the White House released a report analyzing the use of non-competition agreements across the country. At the same time, it announced that it, along with the U.S. Departments of the Treasury and Labor, will conduct discussions regarding non-competition agreements, their consequences and enforcement. The Report cited a study which notes a 61% increase from 2002 to 2013 in the number of employees getting sued by former companies for breach of non-competition agreements.
