Kyle Gann

Jenner & Block is pleased to announce that corporate lawyer Kyle Gann is joining the firm as a partner in its Chicago office. Mr. Gann will be a member of the Private Equity and Mergers and Acquisitions Practices. With a decade of corporate transactional experience representing both premier private equity groups and public companies in a broad range of matters, he will provide additional bench strength to the firm’s growing Corporate Department.

Mr. Gann’s practice includes counseling his clients on a variety of corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, joint ventures, divestitures and general corporate matters. His experience crosses a wide array of asset classes, including REITs, infrastructure and the technology sectors.

“We are pleased to have Kyle join Jenner & Block,” Managing Partner Terrence J. Truax said. “He is a strategic and cultural fit. He will serve our sophisticated clients who understand that experienced and battle-tested lawyers are needed to get their deals done and done right.”

Mr. Gann joins the firm from Kirkland & Ellis, where he was a corporate partner. He is the eighth lateral transactional partner to join Jenner & Block in 2016.

“Adding Kyle to the practice enhances the depth and breadth of our team and demonstrates the firm’s commitment to growing the Corporate practice,” said firmwide Corporate Chair Joseph P. Gromacki. “He will help us to strengthen our brand as a best-in-class corporate practice that serves both large cap and middle market clients with excellence and cost-efficiency.”

In his career, Mr. Gann has worked with a number of private equity sponsors, such as Apollo Global Management; Avista Capital; Bain Capital; CCMP Capital; Lindsay Goldberg; Macquarie Capital; Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan; and Providence Equity. He has participated in a number of recent, high-profile transactions, including those on behalf of Sensata Technologies Holding N.V., a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), in its international carve-out acquisition of various business divisions operating under the Custom Sensors & Technologies brand; Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings, Inc., a publicly traded company on the NYSE, regarding its sale of outdoor advertising assets across a number of US markets to multiple acquirers; Northwestern Mutual in its acquisition of LearnVest, a web-based financial planning company; and Bain Capital in connection with launching a Virgin branded cruise line with Virgin America and other investors.

“I am excited to join Jenner & Block because of its focus on client-centric legal excellence,” Mr. Gann said. “Jenner & Block is a firm that is receptive to innovation and change that can unlock value for the client; it has a sophisticated understanding of cost-pressures clients face and a strong vision to build the transactional practice. I look forward to being a part of the firm at this exciting time.”

Mr. Gann received his J.D. in 2006 from the New York University School of Law, where he was staff editor for the Annual Survey of American Law. He received his B.A., magna cum laude, from Westmont College in 2003.
