Sandy W. Robinson Brings Significant Market Access and Patient Support Experience to National Health Team

Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP, today announced that Sandy W. Robinson has joined the Washington, D.C., office as a managing director with Manatt Health, the firm's interdisciplinary policy and business advisory division. Robinson comes to Manatt after serving as executive vice president of Nexus Informatics, a company redesigning the delivery of patient access and developing support program technology in the pharmaceutical industry.

With over 25 years of experience in the life sciences sector, Robinson will be advising pharmaceutical, biotechnology, device and diagnostic clients on strategic market access issues, including reimbursement and health policy analyses, technology assessment, patient support program design and communications. She is a sought-after speaker and thought leader on comprehensive patient support programs and managed markets.

“Sandy is a solutions-oriented strategist deeply experienced in market access issues facing life sciences companies,” said William S. Bernstein, chair of Manatt Health. “Her sophisticated consulting background will be a natural extension of our existing pharmaceutical- and insurance-related capabilities.”

Robinson helps clients navigate the complexities of payer, provider, pharmacy and patient segments across the healthcare industry. Prior to her role at Nexus, Robinson founded and led the Patient Access Solutions practice and served as a vice president in the Reimbursement and Product Commercialization practice at the healthcare consulting firm Avalere Health. She also has significant leadership experience at a range of other consulting firms, including one she founded herself, as well as industry knowledge from years spent working for a private insurance provider.

“I was very drawn to Manatt’s interdisciplinary approach to providing industry-leading legal services, business strategy and advocacy to clients in the healthcare sector,” Robinson said. “The firm’s policy, analytic and legal work is progressive and innovative, providing me the opportunity to work alongside a renowned team while guiding clients through issues related to gaps in market access and patient support.”

Robinson earned her B.A. from Catawba College and her MPA from Western Kentucky University. She is also a graduate of the Wharton Executive Education Program at the University of Pennsylvania.
