Volunteers of America Chesapeake & Carolinas Appoints Geneva Riley Tiggle as the Executive Director

Health and human services nonprofit Volunteers of America Chesapeake & Carolinas today announced the hire of Geneva Riley Tiggle as the Executive Director of Organizational Excellence. A key member of the Executive Leadership Team, Tiggle will support the organization by overseeing quality improvement, best practice standards, operational efficiencies, and strategic growth. Key areas of her responsibilities include driving data collection and supporting data driven decisions, embedding evidence-based practices across the organization, managing CQI/key performance indicators as well as maintaining and advancing accreditations.

"Geneva is seen as a subject matter expert in behavioral health treatment process improvement, achieving fully integrated care in clinical practice and exceeding quality measures," said Russell Snyder, Volunteers of America Chesapeake's President and CEO. "She has recognized strengths in conducting analyses of operational processes for treatment quality improvement and risk mitigation. Her experience includes quality oversight of behavioral health systems of care and community behavioral health/SUD programs. We are thrilled to have her as part of our team."

Tiggle earned her Master of Social Work at New York University and her undergraduate degree at Barnard College. Tiggle brings over 20 years’ experience in human services and community behavioral health. She is a licensed LCSW-C and is a board-approved Clinical Supervisor in Maryland. Most recently, Geneva served 8 years at Optum/United Healthcare Group in a leadership role for the clinical quality improvement in their Behavioral Health Operations division. Her responsibilities included oversight of providers behavioral health clinical quality standards in twenty-eight states throughout the Northeast; Southeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest.

Geneva is an avid mountain biker and is training to complete her first virtual race. When Geneva’s not working or training, you’ll likely find her planting and tending to one of the community gardens where she volunteers.
