Cindy Plavier-Truitt
Maryland social impact nonprofit Humanim has a new permanent leader. The Columbia-headquartered org announced this week that Cindy Plavier-Truitt will succeed Henry Posko as president and CEO.
Plavier-Truitt had been serving as interim CEO following Posko’s retirement in September after 41 years at Humanim. She has 32 years of experience at the nonprofit, after starting her career with the org from an entry-level position. She has served as an officer for 17 years, starting and leading programs in human services, workforce development, clinical services and social enterprise. Among the efforts she led: the renovation of the American Brewery building in East Baltimore as the nonprofit’s city base and the establishment of a social enterprise division.
“Cindy has done a wonderful job serving Humanim in numerous leadership roles over the years, and we’re delighted that she will now serve as its CEO,” Humanim Board Chair Doug Hall said in a statement on behalf of the board, which had a committee that led the search. “She brings creativity, vision, and a heartfelt passion for the organization. She is the ideal choice to lead Humanim during these challenging times.”
