Diane Bell-McKoy Receives the Greater Baltimore Committee Regional Visionary Award

The Greater Baltimore Committee Board member Diane Bell-McKoy, President and CEO, Associated Black Charities, was presented with the Greater Baltimore Committee Regional Visionary Award at today’s Annual Meeting. This award, created in 1997, is presented to individuals who have significantly contributed to the betterment of the Greater Baltimore region.

According to Don Fry, President and CEO of the Greater Baltimore Committee, “For years she has been a strong advocate working hard to educate business, elected and civic leaders about systemic racism, and the need to address racial equity in the workplace and in the community.”

“For her consistent and strong advocacy, her educating of business and civic leaders, her relentless work to address systemic racism, and being part of the work demonstrating that Black and Brown citizens are part of the economic strength of the Greater Baltimore Region, the Greater Baltimore Committee is proud to present its 2020 Regional Visionary Award to Diane Bell-McKoy,” Fry said.

Associated Black Charities works across Maryland as an educator, advocate, and supporter to eliminate race-based structural barriers and advance long-term solutions that create new opportunities for African Americans to thrive financially and build a stronger economy for all.

The Greater Baltimore Committee (GBC) is a regional organization of business and civic leaders that includes businesses, nonprofit organizations and educational and civic institutions. It is the leading voice for the private sector in the Baltimore region on issues relating to economic growth, job creation, workforce development, transportation, the business climate and quality of life. The GBC’s membership is comprised of over 500 member organizations, including large, mid-size and small companies, nonprofits, education and foundations in the Greater Baltimore region.
