Andrea Marcin
Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service (MVLS), the largest provider of pro bono civil legal services to low-income Marylanders, today announced the addition of Andrea Marcin as the organization’s Equal Justice Works Fellow within the Elder Justice Program. Marcin will provide direct legal services to older adults who are victims of elder abuse through financial exploitation as well as other civil legal challenges related to housing, consumer law, estate planning and family law. Marcin’s appointment is made possible through Equal Justice Works, a nonprofit organization that brings together law students, lawyers, legal services organizations and supporters to promote a lifelong commitment to public service and equal justice.
“We are excited to welcome Andrea Marcin to the MVLS team through the Equal Justice Works Fellowship,” said Margaret Henn, director of program management, Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service (MVLS). “Older Marylanders who are victims of elder abuse, including financial exploitation, can find themselves in very scary situations with nowhere to turn. MVLS is committed to helping these adults navigate their legal challenges through compassionate volunteer and staff attorneys who provide full representation for their cases. It will take a multidisciplinary and coordinated response to curb elder abuse and MVLS is here to stand by those at risk and individuals who are already victims.”
