Sarah Sedlak and Mack McGee named to steering committee of newly formed chapter
The CFO Leadership Council, a professional association dedicated to empowering senior financial executives to realize success, recently developed its Baltimore chapter with SC&H Group serving as one of the founding sponsors.
When The CFO Leadership Council launched a Baltimore chapter, SC&H Group’s leadership team immediately saw the value this national networking and educational forum could bring to CFOs in Maryland.
“As the premier audit, tax and management consulting firm in the mid-Atlantic we are fortunate to have a great network of CFOs who are eager to expand their expertise and network of finance peers,” McGee says. “The opportunity to collaborate with fellow innovative organizations to build a curriculum for the CFO audience felt like a natural fit for SC&H Group.”
The CFO Leadership Council has a “fantastic reputation throughout the country,” says McGee. “We’re excited to become involved as The CFO Leadership Council looks to establish and grow this new chapter.”
With 27 chapters nationwide, The CFO Leadership Council provides senior finance officers the opportunity to exchange ideas, network, and participate in online and site-based professional development programs presented by leading industry experts.
The CFO Leadership Council, says McGee, “helps provide programming that addresses the top areas of interest and concern CFOs face. The group explores the evolving expectations of the finance executive and helps these leaders leverage best practices to rise to the challenges of their complex roles,” McGee says.
SC&H Group team members Chris Helmrath, Jim Jenkins, and Jeff Bathurst have also joined The CFO Leadership Council and will take a leadership role in planning the Baltimore chapter’s programming and events.
Jenkins says that with the “increasingly dynamic role CFOs are playing in their companies,” networking and education opportunities for CFOs are more important than ever.
“SC&H has always been about helping businesses and business leaders reach their goals,” says Jenkins, “so we are well aligned with the goals of The CFO Leadership Council.”
According to Angela Tise, Northeast Regional Director and National Membership Chair of The CFO Leadership Council, the Baltimore chapter’s first meeting will be Wednesday, September 18th. The meeting’s topic, said Tise, will be CFO as Agent of Change and all executive-level finance professionals are welcome to attend.
“Future events will delve into topics such as cybersecurity, risk management, ethics and more,” Tise said. “It’s been wonderful to get to know the finance community here in Baltimore, and see the pride they take in their city. I look forward to building the future of our chapter and building the relationship we have with SC&H Group.” For more details on upcoming events and how to become a member visit: https://cfoleadershipcouncil.
