Olazagasti Joins SECU To Support Business Development and Financial Education Efforts

SECU, Maryland’s leading credit union, is pleased to announce that Rafael “Raf” Olazagasti has joined the company as AVP, Sales and Service Market Leader. Olazagasti will support SECU’s community market leaders to drive business development and fosterfinancial education throughout Maryland.

Olazagasti has over a decade of experience in financial services and began his career as a financial specialist. He later became a successful licensed banker and served as a manager in several Maryland bank branches. Most recently, hewas the District Manager of the Greater Central Maryland market at Wells Fargo Bank.

Prior to joining SECU, Olazagasti participated in several councils and committees including the Mid-Atlantic Diversity & Inclusion Council, Maryland Service Council and the Mid-Atlantic Accelerated Leader Program.

Olazagasti values his obligation to the surrounding community. He has served as a project lead for Rebuilding Together – Howard Countyfor the last year and spent the past five years on the Community Relations Council for the Woodland Job Corps in Laurel, where he recently received the Student Engagement Award. Olazagasti was also recognized by The Daily Record on its 2018 Very Important Professionals Listfor his commitment to community.

Olazagasti earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Towson University and earned his Masters from the University of Baltimore. He currently resides in Eldersburg, Md. with his wife, Katie, and their four kids: Maddie, Owen and identical twins, Jaynie and Allie.
