Ellin & Tucker, the Baltimore-based public accounting and business consulting firm, announced today that Kim Fusco, a principal in the firm’s audit and accounting department, is a recipient of The Daily Record’s 2017 Leading Women awards. Fusco was recognized due to her professional accomplishments, her commitment to mentoring young female accountants and her contributions to the Maryland community. The award ceremony will be held on December 4, 2017 at The Westin Annapolis.

“It is an honor to be recognized amongst such a strong group of female leaders,” said Fusco. “Maryland is better off because of their hard work and commitment to philanthropy, and I am inspired when I look around and see what women in leadership are doing for our community.”

The Leading Women awards honor women who are 40 years old or younger for the accomplishments they have made so far in their careers. The applicants were judged on professional experience, community involvement and their commitment to inspiring change. A panel of business and legal professionals and a representative of The Daily Record selected the winners.

Fusco is a leader in Ellin & Tucker’s Not-for-Profit Services Group and chairperson of the not-for-profit sector of the firm’s accounting and auditing technical standards committee, which develops programs to enhance understanding of current accounting and financial reporting standards for the firm’s professionals. She is also the founder of the firm’s Giving Back Committee, a group dedicated to raising money for, donating items to and volunteering in Greater Baltimore.

Fusco is a recipient of the Philanthropic 5 award from the United Way of Central Maryland, and was named to The Daily Record’s Very Important Professionals by 40 list. She is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA) and the DFK International Not-For-Profit Committee, and is the president of the board of directors for Disability Rights Maryland. Fusco earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Grove City College.
