CohnReznick Raises $12,000 for Stocks in the Future

6/29/17

CohnReznick LLP, one of the leading accounting, tax, and advisory firms in the United States, raised more than $12,000 for local non-profit Stocks in the Future at its 16th Annual Baltimore Charity Golf Tournament. Proceeds from the tournament will support Stocks in the Future’s mission to provide comprehensive financial literacy curriculum for middle school students in under-served communities.

CohnReznick hosted the tournament at Greystone Golf Course in White Hall, Maryland on June 12, 2017. More than 80 players joined in the day’s festivities to benefit Stocks in the Future. In addition to the tournament itself, participants in this year’s event had the opportunity to bid on assorted raffle items, a silent auction and compete in the longest drive and closest to the pin contests for both men and women.

“The Charity Golf Tournament has become one of our most-anticipated events,” said Ira Weinstein, Managing Principal of CohnReznick’s Baltimore office. “Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and participants who make the tournament successful, we are able to help this worthy organization in its work to help many middle school students thrive in their classrooms, homes, and neighborhoods.”

Stocks in the Future was developed at Johns Hopkins University, and develops curricula to give middle school students the real-world financial education that is not provided in schools today. Stocks in the Future teaches underserved middle school students personal finance skills to empower each student to take control of their financial and academic future.

CohnReznick’s annual Baltimore golf tournament began 16 years ago to provide support for the family of a CohnReznick employee who was diagnosed with a rare blood disease. Continuing this tradition of service to those in need in our community, the tournament supports a different charitable organization in Baltimore each year.
