ConnectYourCare (CYC) - a national leader in consumer-directed health care account solutions – has promoted Tim Sand to serve as the company's Chief Operating Officer (COO).

With close to 30 years of experience, Sand will oversee the operations of the company, inclusive of participant and client services. Prior to this position, Sand was CYC’s Vice President of Operations.

“Tim has the proven background and experience for this position and I couldn’t be happier to have him as CYC’s Chief Operating Officer,” said Steve Grieco, Chief Executive Officer, at ConnectYourCare. “Having served as VP of Operations, Tim has been instrumental in the planning of strategic direction of the company and has the broad skills to guide CYC’s end to end operations.”

Prior to joining CYC, Sand was Health and Welfare Operations Leader at Willis Towers Watson. There, he was responsible for all health supporting services, as well as being the product owner of the outsourcing platform.

He was also Vice President of Health Care Exchanges at Aon Hewitt where he led the operations of the Core Benefits Administration platform. At the start of his career, he was a senior consultant at Accenture.

Sand earned his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from The Ohio State University. There, he was a member of the Industrial Engineering Honor Society.

He resides in Ellicott City and is currently training for an Ironman competition.

Sand’s promotion comes on the heels of Raj Bhavsar’s appointment to Chief Technology Officer in April.
