Robert Mango Joins CustomerFirst Renewables Business Development Team

5/17/17

CustomerFirst Renewables (CFR) has named Robert A. Mango as Director, Business Development effective May 2. Mango will help advance the company's business development efforts across all its markets nationally and will help CFR strategically grow its business.

"We are excited to welcome Bob to our team," said Gary Farha, President and CEO of CFR. "Bob's institutional knowledge, and the strategic insights that come with it, coupled with his commercial and transactional experience across a diversity of traditional and new energy markets, will serve our clients well. We look forward to Bob helping CFR drive expanded access to renewables by big businesses, institutions, and local communities, as well as by the organizations that supply them."

Mango brings more than 30 years of strategic, commercial, and transactional energy industry experience to CFR. He previously served as Director, Strategic Customer Initiatives with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) helping the Agency and its 155 local power companies in the seven-state region develop new business models and prepare for a decentralized and decarbonized marketplace of the future. Mango also worked extensively with the Agency's direct serve industrial customers in developing a new class of demand response products that conveyed benefits to customers and stakeholders alike.

Prior to TVA, Mango served Duke Energy corporate and three of its subsidiaries, Duke Capital Partners, DFS Midstream, and DukeSolutions, in leadership roles in strategy, M&A, private capital lending origination and execution, and energy services contract structuring. Prior to Duke, Mango served Niagara Mohawk (now National Grid) in rates, pricing and product design where his efforts were instrumental in bringing real-time pricing to electricity markets for the first time; he also served Niagara in driving the development of their deregulated marketing and trading subsidiary and then in building and administering its first risk oversight program.
