Jeff Julius Appointed as Director of Risk and Safety for JENSEN HUGHES’ Power Services Group

BALTIMORE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--JENSEN HUGHES Power Services Group (PSG) is pleased to announce the addition of Mr. Jeff Julius as the new Director of Risk and Safety in the Seattle area.

Mr. Julius has 30 years of experience in the performance, management and review of probabilistic safety, risk, and reliability assessments of nuclear reactor plants and non-nuclear systems. Jeff was a Principal Investigator in the NUREG-1150/4550 research program of the Surry plant and the NUREG-1921 Fire HRA Guidelines. He is experienced in all task disciplines and all types of Probabilistic Risk Assessments (PRAs); including internal events, Human Reliability, Fire, and Shutdown PRA.

Jeff will play a vital role in the continued development of providing high quality PRA services to the nuclear industry both in the U.S. and abroad. Doug True, Executive Vice President of the Power Services Group, noted,

Mr. Julius most recently served as Director and Office Manager of the Curtiss-Wright Seattle, WA office where he directed nuclear probabilistic risk assessments (PRA), chemical process safety management (PSM), and reliability projects. Jeff managed and participated in various analytical capacities in major risk assessments for numerous foreign and domestic nuclear power plants evaluating electrical generation and distribution, mechanical, hydraulic, fluid, and pneumatic systems. He has been a project manager directing engineering, software, training, and review projects for the last 25 years. Most recently he served as senior technical advisor, helping with the licensing PRA for the Barakah Nuclear Power Plants in the United Arab Emirates.

Mr. Julius holds a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Washington. He served as a Division Officer in the U.S. Navy for 6 years, a U.S. Naval Reserve Officer for almost 24 years, and commanded four Naval Reserve units.
