Special Olympics Maryland Names Ron Freeman as Baltimore Region Director

Special Olympics Maryland today announced the appointment of Ron Freeman as its Baltimore Region Director. Within this new role, Freeman will define, implement, manage and evaluate fully integrated program development and management plans throughout Baltimore City and Baltimore County. Additionally, he will design and implement strategies to recruit and retain more athletes and volunteers while increasing the frequency and quality of competition opportunities.

Prior to joining the Special Olympics team, Freeman worked as a Principal Systems Analyst at General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), providing consistent, logical and repeatable processes, procedures and solutions. He also served as the team lead for various workgroups throughout the company.

Freeman has volunteered with Special Olympics Maryland over the last 13 years, assuming numerous roles, including venue director for the Summer (2013-16) and Winter Games (2013-15). Freeman holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from McDaniel College.
