Bill Kline

The National Aquarium is pleased to announce that Bill Kline has been promoted to director of facilities.

Kline joined the Aquarium in 2000 as facilities project manager. He most recently served as the organization’s maintence and project manager, providing leadership and oversight over daily activities for facilities maintenance staff and contractors in the performance and completion of preventive maintenance, work orders and emergency repairs.

In this new role, Kline is responsible for planning, directing and overseeing the operation of the facilities department and warehouse facilities, and coordinating with the operations team to ensure the Aquarium’s buildings and grounds are maintained in first-class working order. In addition to managing the facilities team, Kline will lead disaster planning and preparation, capital project design documentation reviews and planning coordination of utility/energy management in line with conservation priorities and values.

“Our facilities team is essential to providing the highest level of guest experience and animal care,” said Chief Operations Officer Dale Schimdt. “Bill has done an extraordinary job in planning and implementing projects with our conservation mission in mind, and I believe his experience and leadership will drive the standard of excellence in this department.”

Kline earned his Associate of Applied Science in Construction Management from Community College of Baltimore County.
