Brian Bezek

Ripken Baseball today announced Brian Bezek as its Manager of Player Development & Ripken Performance Metrics (RPMs). Bezek will be responsible for overseeing the operations and strategy involving all Ripken Player Development programming and initiatives, which includes the strategic scaling, deployment and objective measure curriculum of the RPMs program. Designed by the game’s greatest innovators, RPMs introduce quantitative measurements of a player’s ability to generate outs on the field and create offense at the plate.

“It’s an amazing opportunity to work with such an esteemed brand, who truly values the importance of developing youth athletes,” said Bezek. “Becoming a part of the Ripken Baseball team allows me to give back to the sport that I love, while readying kids for what’s next in life, both on and off the field.”

With the goal of cultivating an industry-wide demand for objective data throughout amateur baseball, Bezek will also work to create baseball curriculum surrounding objective measures to ultimately bring RPMs from prototype to the mainstream market.

“With Brian’s baseball background and marketing acumen, he will serve as a great addition to the Ripken Baseball team,” said John Bramlette, executive vice president of amateur baseball at Ripken Baseball. “We are looking forward to collaborating with Brian to revolutionize the sport and create opportunities for youth athletes everywhere.”

Prior to joining the Ripken Baseball team, Bezek served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the University of Rochester men’s baseball team. On the field, Bezek worked with hitters and infielders, as well as coached third base. His responsibilities also included writing the team’s annual newsletter and balancing the year-end budget. Additionally, Bezek worked as a Pricing and Bid Center Intern at Xerox, where he analyzed quantitative and qualitative data to drive a higher measureable performance. He also monitored and updated Xerox’s Bid Center, a website used by the team and field agents to register bids needing support on pricing exceptions.

Bezek is a graduate of the University of Rochester, where he holds Bachelor of Arts in Financial Economics and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Rochester Simon Graduate School of Business. As an undergraduate, he played Division III baseball for his alma mater.
