Corinne Weaver
The National Aquarium is pleased to announce that Corinne Weaver has been named media relations coordinator. Weaver makes this move after serving as the organization’s advertising and promotions coordinator.
In her new role as media relations coordinator, Weaver will assist the marketing team with several key efforts including developing communications materials and content, organizing and executing media relations plans, and identifying and proposing stories to promote awareness of the National Aquarium to media and the general public.
In 2014, Weaver served as a media relations intern with the Aquarium, during which time she worked closely with the director of media relations, writing and editing press materials, engaging with media and assisting with social media efforts. Weaver joined the organization full-time in January 2016 as the advertising and promotions coordinator and was responsible for promoting aquatic conservation awareness, driving attendance and coordinating Aquarium events.
“Corinne has shown tremendous dedication to promoting the National Aquarium and its conservation efforts,” said Amanda Forr, vice president of brand communications at the National Aquarium. “She is a vital member of the marketing and communications team, and we are looking forward to seeing what she accomplishes in her new role.”
Weaver graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in public relations from West Virginia Wesleyan College (WVWC) in 2015. While pursuing her degree, Weaver gained valuable public relations and social media experience working for the online magazine Her Campus WVWC, WVWC’s Greek Life department and Lakeside Creamery.
