Lockheed Martin, a titan of the aerospace and defense industries, will downsize operations at its Middle River location over the next two years, requiring 465 employees to relocate or transition to telework.

The company, which has roots in the area stretching back over a century to the founding of the Glenn L. Martin Company in 1917, plans to keep as many employees as possible during the process of winding down, which should wrap up between March and June of 2023.
