WJP Restaurants will host a Free Lunch Day on February 3 at their quick serve restaurants for those who make a monetary donation to a participating food bank
WJP Restaurants today announced the results of their Feeding Our Neighbors In Need program. In a joint venture with COPT, WJP hosted the Feeding Our Neighbors in Need program at Fiero Mexican Street Food located at The National Business Park in Annapolis Junction, as well as three restaurants in Redstone Gateway in Huntsville, AL. For every meal purchased, the WJP Restaurant Group donated a meal to the Maryland Food Bank or the Food Bank of North Alabama. WJP Restaurant Group made and met their goal of donating a total of 60,000 meals, from the combined sales at Redstone Gateway in Huntsville (45,000 targeted donated meals) and The National Business Park in Maryland (15,000 targeted donated meals).
COPT's Senior Vice President, Asset Management + Leasing for The National Business Park, Greg Prossner, said, "It was an honor to support a program like this and achieve such an impactful goal. As an organization, we felt inspired by the initiative led by WJP and made an additional donation of $7,500 to both the Maryland Food Bank and the Food Bank of North Alabama. With so many facing hunger for the first time, we were proud to be able to support this program in multiple ways.”
To further the impact of the Feeding Our Neighbors In Need program, WJP Restaurants will host a Free Lunch Day on Wednesday, February 3 at Fiero Mexican Street Food during which patrons can receive a free entree as a ‘thank you’ when they make a monetary donation to the Maryland Food Bank. The Free Lunch Day runs from 11am to 1pm and each customer may receive one free entree.
“We achieved incredibly successful results from the Feeding Our Neighbors in Need program and were able to surpass our goal of 15,000 and donate over 20,000 meals to the Maryland Food Bank,” said Peter Nolan, VP of Marketing at WJP Restaurant Group. “COPT’s donations pushed us over our initial goal and the outpouring of love and support from the community was so staggering, that ending the program with an additional opportunity to support families in need felt fitting.”
