GREENBELT, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. (NABA) is pleased to announce the selection of their new President and Chief Executive Officer, Guylaine Saint Juste who will officially step into the role on February 1, 2021. Saint Juste succeeds Walter J. Smith, a Lifetime Member who previously served as NABA's 23rd Chairman of the Board of Directors, as he re-enters retirement after providing leadership and stability to the organization for over 2-1/2 years.

“Guylaine is a transformational leader who will lead NABA into the next 50 years,” shares the NABA, Inc. Chairman of the Board of Directors, Herschel Frierson. “We are excited and honored to have Guylaine lead this great Association we love. Her skills, dedication, and commitment will build upon the already solid foundation of ‘Lifting As We Climb’.”

Guylaine was formerly the Managing Director, Employer of Influence Strategy at Year Up, a nonprofit organization that provides students of color the opportunity to experience careers in business and technology. Guylaine is a leader in the boardroom not only for her executive roles but with her activist spirit, she fights issues in the industry such as: tackling colorism in the workforce, the “4-year degree required” for entry-level to middle-skills jobs, pedigree as a barrier to advancement for opportunity youth, and the interdependence of equity and economic mobility.

Saint Juste, who is Haitian-American, has over 25 years of experience in financial services. For almost five years, she served as the Business Banking Virginia Market Executive with Capital One Bank. From there, she joined Year Up as the Executive Director of the National Capital Region in April of 2015. During the four years she served in this position, she increased revenue by over 30%, doubled the number of students in the program, and grew corporate partnerships by 31%.
