Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott has appointed MD Energy Advisors’ CEO and co-founder, Phil Croskey, as Co-Chair of the Environment & Sustainability Committee, which will advise the Mayor on protecting the city’s natural resources. Croskey will co-chair the committee with Mary Grant, Campaign Director of Public Water for All at Food & Water Watch. This committee is among ten that comprise Mayor Scott’s Transition to determine priorities and provide guidanceto the new administration.

“I have asked this group to serve because of their leadership, creativity, and willingness to break down silos and work together in service of the greater good,” Scott said in a transition team statement. “I have confidence in this team and look forward to working closely with them in the coming months as we build a new way forward for Baltimore.”

Croskey brings more than 20 years of executive, managerial, renewable energy and efficiency experience to the Environment & Sustainability Committee. As CEO and co-founder of MD

Energy Advisors he is responsible for the group’s strategic direction and revenue growth, and serves as chief communicator for the energy solutions company. Croskey also co-founded PointClickSwitch, a proprietary online platform powered by MD Energy Advisors that helps residential customers in deregulated energy markets save on utility costs through comparison shopping.

“We have an incredible opportunity with this committee to create a nexus that sustains our environment, ensures environmental justice and equity, and helps build a green economy for today and into the future,” said Croskey. “Guided by Mayor Scott’s vision, a new chapter has begun in Baltimore, and I am ready to apply my expertise and passion to achieve these important initiatives. Given the immense opportunities that Baltimore has provided for me personally, and for MD Energy Advisors, I am confident that we can make a significant and positive impact on behalf of the City of Baltimore and its residents.”

Joining Croskey on the mayor’s committee is MD Energy Advisor’s Jonathan Kosobucki, P.E., C.E.M., Senior Energy Engineer. Kosobucki is responsible for MD Energy Advisors’ sponsored programs that encourage energy efficiency in commercial, industrial, schools, and government buildings. He has more than 14 years of experience with helping organizations improve building energy efficiency, reduce water consumption, lower CO2 production, and achieve cost savings.

Croskey and Kosobucki are among Mayor Scott’s transition team’s volunteer members, committee co-chairs, and steering committee members who will work together to interview stakeholders and determine priorities in each of their focus areas. They will offer guidance to Mayor Scott’s administration on issues such as public health and safety; business, workforce and neighborhood development; fiscal preparedness; education and youth recreation; housing and neighborhood development; transportation and infrastructure; human services; governance structure and operations; and arts and culture.

By early February 2021, the committees will recommend short-term and long-term actions for the Scott administration to administer over the next four years.
