Government contracting firm expands in premiere office building in Columbia Gateway

Savills has completed an 8-year, 19,031-square-foot lease to expand cybersecurity firm Chiron Technology Service’s footprint at its new headquarters at 7021 Columbia Gateway Drive in Columbia, Maryland.

Savills has represented Chiron for almost a decade and advised the firm on previous transactions, including its current corporate office space, previous workspace on Dobbin Road in Columbia and contract sensitive facilities adjacent to Fort Gordon in Augusta, Georgia.

Senior Managing Director George Santos, Corporate Managing Director Ryan Miller and Assistant Director Mike Barbalace recognized the unique opportunity to  restructure Chiron’s lease and move its dedicated classroom space into the Class A building 7021 Columbia Gateway. When completing the transaction, Savills was able to leverage a tenant-friendly market to dramatically reduce Chiron’s overall cost while securing an aggressive concession package that includes free rent, tenant improvements and the right to install prominent exterior building signage.
