Lord Baltimore Hotel's 6th Annual Couture Tree Competition Coming to Town Dec. 1

11/20/20

Virtual competition featuring 22 designer trees will be open for public voting December 1-14

The Lord Baltimore Hotel will host its 6th annual Couture Tree Competition virtually this year while the hotel serves as the Triage, Respite and Isolation (TRI) Center for the City of Baltimore. The general public is invited to vote on their favorite trees, decorated by nonprofits, individuals, and area businesses, between Dec. 1-14 by way of the Lord Baltimore Facebook page (www.facebook.com/lordbaltimorehotel).

“We’re so pleased to be able to continue this annual tradition, particularly during a time when we could all benefit from some holiday cheer,” said Onahleah Shimunek, general manager. “I invite the public to take the time to enjoy these beautiful creations and to celebrate our community.”

Eleven of the 22 designers who will be creating Couture Trees are returning designers, including both of last year’s winning designers – Jess! Pfohl, who created “Tartan Tulle, & Fir,” and Luann Carra, who created “Candy Ribbons.”

In addition to viewing all of the tree submissions online, several trees will be showcased in window displays “in real life” at LB Bakery, 20 W. Baltimore Street; Downtown Partnership’s Pop Up Shop at 100 N Charles Plaza; Spirits of Mt Vernon, 900 N Charles Street; and

Schola, 916 N Charles Street.

The designers of the winning trees – one for the tree designed by an individual or area business and one for the tree designed by a nonprofit organization – will announced on the Hotel’s social media channels on December 15, 2020. Winning designers will each receive a prize of $500.
