Chesapeake Contracting Group (CCG), a value-added general contractor providing services throughout the Mid-Atlantic region for over 40 years, recently began construction on three new innovative projects. They include a 285 unit, 5-story luxury apartment building on Fells Point’s waterfront; a state-of-the-art medical facility for the University of Maryland Medical Campus in Cambridge, set for completion in fall 2021 and the Carroll Hospital’s Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Facility, scheduled to be completed in July 2021. In addition, CCG completed construction on a Porsche Dealership in Northern Virginia set to open this fall.
“There is no doubt that these are trying times but we continue to forge ahead and work on projects that have meaning in local communities and also keep people employed. We take pride in our work and know that our hallmark has always been our consistent executive involvement throughout each component of a project in addition to our highly successful proven track record,” said Michael Wildey, Vice President, Chesapeake Contracting Group.
CCG Residential Construction is currently under construction on The Pennant for Elm Street Development, situated at the waterfront in Fells Point. This 285 unit, 5-story apartment building consists of part adaptive reuse - converting the existing Wolfe Street Warehouse into parking- and part new construction - adding a 5-story addition to accommodate amenities and residential units. The Pennant will feature common spaces, a fitness center, storage space and integrated parking. They will offer five different unit styles ranging from studio to two-bedroom.
CCG was also awarded general contractor for the new University of Maryland Medical Campus at Cambridge, Maryland. The state-of-the-art freestanding medical facility, expected to be completed by fall 2021, will consist of a full 24/7 Emergency Department, a second-story medical services pavilion, helipad and parking. The first floor of the building will house the hi-tech, 39,000-square-foot Emergency Department including 18 private treatment rooms, six private observation rooms and a separate, three-bed unit for the assessment and treatment of patients needing emergency care for behavioral health issues. The second floor will serve as a medical pavilion offering a wide array of services, including an outpatient surgery center, diagnostic imaging and laboratory services, rehabilitation services (including the Balance Center), chronic disease management services and a community education room.
Additionally, CCG has been selected as the general contractor for the Carroll Hospital’s Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. The two-story building will consist of 60 beds, 40 private and 10 semi-private rooms, and will offer residents a comprehensive range of services such as physical, occupational, speech and respiratory therapy, as well as wound and pulmonary care and care for patients recovering from surgery. With its proximity to the hospital, it also will enhance the quality of care by improving patients’ access to clinical providers and specialized services at the hospital.
