The Children’s Guild Alliance Names Chris Zimmerman Board Chair

Chris Zimmerman

The Children’s Guild Alliance, a nonprofit organization serving children, families and child-serving organizations, named Chris Zimmerman chair of the board of directors. Previously, he served as vice chair and as chair of The Children’s Guild District of Columbia Public Charter School board.

Professionally, Zimmerman works for Diligent Corp. in Washington, D.C., a company that provides corporate governance and collaboration solutions for boards and senior executives. Previously, he was associate director for CrossCountry Consulting, director for FTI Consulting and a management consultant for Accenture in Washington, D.C. He holds an MBA in strategy and finance from Washington University in St. Louis and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Notre Dame.

The Children’s Guild Alliance also named four new board members:

  • Michael Curran is principal and chief operating officer of Riparian Capital Partners, a real estate private equity investment management firm, and managing partner of Curran Advisors and Truebridge Partners, organizational and leadership development companies in Washington, D.C.
  • Eric Collier is strategic partnership coordinator for Mercy Ships, where he raises funds to support hospital ships that meet the medical needs of people across the world. He specializes in organizational decision-making, finding strategic financing partners and establishing governance boundaries.
  • Sundra Ryce is president of a real estate development and consulting firm specializing in commercial and residential development, planning and design and construction management. She is an international motivational speaker and holds a doctorate in organizational leadership, where she guides organizations as a master business strategist. Ryce also serves on the board of The National Children’s Guild Fund.
  • Judy Shaw is founder and senior leader of Center of Life Church, founder of Judy Shaw Ministries and president and CEO of the Judy Shaw Foundation. She has spoken and established ministries across the world. Shaw also serves on the board of The National Children’s Guild Fund.
